On Easter Sunday, this year the 31st of March, the SSDPP graduate student union represented by Easter bunnies Todd, Fernando and Mette organized a traditional Easter Egg Hunt on BNU’s campus.
The activity started with a presentation in which we shortly explained the background and meaning of Easter both from a Christian religious perspective and a non-religious viewpoint, and then demonstrated the different habits in the US, Mexico and the Netherlands, our home countries.
After this, the real event began, and our lovely participants, including Chinese students, foreign students and teachers, were divided into four groups according to the colour of a little chocolate Easter egg that they blindly drew from a box. All the teams were given their first instructions on what was to become an arduous and exciting adventure through campus with the goal to find all five bags of eggs and hurry back to the base.
The eggs were hidden well across campus and the only means the participants had to finding them was by following the cryptic instructions that were given to them with each bag of eggs they found. Of course, if it proved too difficult, they could always ask for help from one of the Easter bunnies hopping around campus.
All teams did an excellent job and returned in short distance from each other. Still, of course there has to be a winner. See the line-up from the pictures below to find out. We wish to thank our lovely participants for making this event a great success and hope to be seeing a continuation next year!
